About Pet Portraits
Hand-drawn pet portraits with ink on paper. No digital anything. Studio Portraits are detailed and expressive, drawn with traditional metal nib pen and ink. Street Drawings are fast, drippy, and abstract, drawn with graffiti markers at popups and events. Two styles depending on the vibe you want.

About the Artist

I’m Alvar Sirlin, an artist and web developer based in New York.
I went to LaGuardia High School of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Bard College, SVA, the Art Students League, the University of Buenos Aires, and the studios of Juan Carlos DiStefano and Burton Silverman.
As a teen in Manhattan I was a graffiti artist, known by the moniker Baes. After RISD, my artwork expanded to include abstract painting, landscapes and reportage-style illustration for soccer and surfing magazines. Finally, before dedicating to pen and ink exclusively, I devoted myself to large scale oil painting portraits. Now I mostly do pet portraits but also dabble in print making and scultpure, along with pen and ink landscapes.
You can see some of my painting below. Past illustration work can be found at archive.alvar.nyc.
